Summary:
I have an old AE1 and brought a second body to go with the 6 lens that I have. Handy to have a P&S camera for quick shots. Then I found I was getting better results than the AE1. I have enjoyed it so much I got a second one for my daughter. She can then shoot easily thru' a decent lens.

Strengths:
Dead easy to use and repair shops advise that T50 is easy to fix. Auto wind works well. To change exposure, simply set on a tripod at 1/60 manual and change lens settings based on meter reading from my AE1. Also changing film speed settings works where high contrast etc applies. Works with FD lenses. Brilliant with an 85mm f1.8.

Weaknesses:
This would have been an absolute winner had they had a manual setting.

Repaired in Cape Town in 5 minutes when mechanics stuck. I was told it is easy to fix

Summary:
This Camera is a reliable camera, but doesn not allow control over its use. You can not set the shutter or appature. I am a beginner Photography student, and this camera was difficult to learn on, due to the lack of control over the camera.

Strengths:
It''s reliable, and fun to use when using casually for fun. Simple to use, light wieght

Weaknesses:
Can''t set shutter speed or aperature.

Price Paid:  $135.00 from Pawnshop in 1987

Summary:
I bought this camera in Texas way back in 1987 from a pawn shop. The camera takes excellent photos considering that it does everything automatic. I''ve really never been disappointed with this gem and will continue to use it for as long as it works

Strengths:
Easy to use, Very solid body, Batteries last forever

Weaknesses:
The number of exposures indicator broke years ago and now I can never remember how many photos are on a roll

Summary:
The T50 is basically a P&S (point & shoot) camera that just happens to allow you to use Canon FD lenses! You can't select shutter speed or aperture, it's all done by the camera. This is NOT a good camera to learn photography with, due to the lack of control. OK for backup body.

Strengths:
very simple to operate
uses Canon FD lenses!
uses AA batteries

Weaknesses:
no control of exposure
noisy shutter & winder
