Kodak Advantix Black & White 400

MSRP: $

Description: The first KODAK APS black and white 400-speed film. Focus on what's important, by using the sharpest B&W Advanced Photo System film. It performs well in daylight, typical action shots, low light, zoom photography, or anytime you need a long-range flash.

Review 1 of 20

Price Paid:  $4.00 from number of places

Summary:
This product is great if the lighting is right. I took b/w's of Notre Dame and the Arc de Triumph in Paris and the photo's were amazing. I even had them blown up to 8x10 (or equivalent APS size) and framed them. Don't take in bright sunlight though (common sense for any b/w) - the contrasts are enough to make an interesting picture. Bottom line - this is a great way to take b/w's with your APS.

Strengths:
Good quality. Low grain. Works with APS.

Weaknesses:
None really.

Similar Products Used:
None.

Customer Service:
Never tried.

Summary:
After reading the reviews I went to purchase APS B&W film and had a hard time locating any vendors online! Finally found www.FilmArt.com and it's a great site with the best selection.

Review 3 of 20

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
This is some great film. I haven taken pictures of my aunt''s dog which she is now getting blown up. This film has very good exposure latitude and is very fine grained.

Strengths:
Every thing I mentioned above.

Weaknesses:
I would like to see it made in faster (ISO 800) and slower (ISO 100 or 200) versions.

Similar Products Used:
None

Customer Service:
Not needed.

Review 5 of 20

Summary:
I just shot a roll pushed to 800iso. I was shooting action sports in poor light conditions. I wanted that raw, grainy B&W feel hence pushing it to 800. I should have pushed it further, perhaps 1000 or even 1600. At 800 I hardly see any difference from 400.

If you are an advancing photographer and don´t know what to do with you APS equipment, especially when you buy those medium format cams and get used to that pic quality. Here´s what you should do: Keep advantix black and white on pile and use your APS as your standard B&W equipment.

Strengths:
Fine Grain,

Great latitude, very pushable.

Weaknesses:
Needs underexposure to give really dark shadows.

Somewhat greyish

Similar Products Used:
35 mm B&W
All advantix and nexia films.
