Price Paid:  $150.00 from Circuit city

Summary:
I bought a this camera and a use&throw camera. I (in face all who saw the photos) liked the one which took by use&throw camera.
I am surprised about the quality of ASP cameras photographs. I am going to give that back and buy a regular 35 MM one.

Strengths:
size

Weaknesses:
not for the guys who has fat fingers.
Print quality.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $180.00 from Ritz

Summary:
Got this camera last week, because I was looking for a replacement for my 7-year-old Olympus Stylus (which leaks light). Picked the ELPH LT 270 because of Canon's reputation, and after reading some glowing reviews on Amazon.com.

So far, I'm not impressed. The camera is small, light and fairly easy to use -- all the things I really want -- but my first pictures have been dull, flat and a little disapointing.

I don't know if this is because of the camera, or the film, or because of the developer. I've had the pics done at a cheap one-hour place and they look like they were printed from a digital camera.

I can return the camera within 30 days of purchase. What I'm planning to do is buy a similarly priced 35 mm camera, and then take similar pictures with both units. I'll keep the photo that produces the sharpest, most colorful photos -- and the other camera will go back to the shop for a refund.

I'm curious to hear what other ELPH LT 270 owners think. And, please e-mail me if you can suggest a camera that's small, light and fairly easy to use -- AND takes excellent photos. (I'm kind of sour on Olympus cameras, because that damn Stylus ruined so many photos!)

I'm a casual photographer, but I'll be taking this camera on vacation in August, so I need something that takes excellent scenery shots in addition to everyday people shots. (If you're a professional photographer, what kind of point-and-shoot camera do YOU take on vacation?)

Right now, I'm giving rating this camera 3 stars in both categories. There's nothing wrong with it, per se, but it doesn't deliver excellent results. It's a B-/C+ performer.

Strengths:
-- Good-looking camera
-- Light and small
-- Good LCD display
-- APS seems to be idiotproof film

Weaknesses:
-- Iffy picture quality
-- Indoor pictures are unimpressive
-- Doesn't have a metal finish, like most of the other ELPHs.
