from A big box store that Summary: I have had this camera for only two weeks now but I am very impressed with it so far. I can take many more photos with this camera than I could with my old one before the batteries die. I like that it uses standard size AA batteries so that in a pinch, I can easily get some if I suddenly come up dead.
As for the camera, it is nice and compact with a decent sized LCD screen. The controls are easily reached, and for the most part easy to understand. As with all did\gital devices now days, it seems to have a dizzying aray of menus to navigate. Unfortunately you have to do just that in order to get to the controls for shutter speed and F stop. The saving grace is that the pre-programmed modes cover a wide array of lighting conditions that you are most likely to encounter. The only real complaint I have with the controls is that the Mode dial on top tends to spin too easily, so you must make sure to be careful not to switch modes accidently
The shutter response on this camera is almost as quick as on a film camera. This is a big bonus for those of us who want to take real action shots with a digital camera. I have only seen faster response from much more expensive digital cameras. Strengths: Speeed - The camera boots up fast and has good shutter response.
Battery life, and the fact that it uses AA's.
Can take movies with sound for as long as the memory card holds out. Weaknesses: Mode select dial spins too easily.
Menus can become rather confusing when trying to access manual controls Similar Products Used: Samsung Digimax that I have had for a few years.
I tried the Canon A95, Fuji Finepix 4300, Nikon Coolpix, this camera seemed to have the best combination of features, speed, and size for me. Customer Service: No comment, I have not had a need for it. Registering is easy on-line
