from Amazon Summary: This lens is known (like the 50mm 1.8) for its noisy, non-USM focus. But aside from that, it is a wonderful prime lens that is very versatile on a cropped sensor body. The 35mm has excellent focus, color saturation and contrast. The bokeh is nice but there are only 5 or 6 blades so small light sources show as polygonal.
If I want to take only one lens for a day sight-seening, this will be it. It's also small and light. Its landscapes are so good I don't miss my 20mm if I haven't brought it. And you can take portraits with it - although the 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.8 do a better job.
Strengths: Great saturation, contrast, sharp focus almost always on the mark. Weaknesses: Sound when focusing, bokeh can be polygonal for small light sources. Similar Products Used: 50mm f1.4, 20mm f2.8 Customer Service: none needed
