Summary:
My 2nd review. Has a zipper mesh pocket on the very top and inside the front pouch. Another zipper pocket in back. The design of the front pouch is nice. It helps keep your small stuff from spilling on the ground. The expandable loops on the sides of the bag seem useless. Whatever you put in these loops will probably fall out and be lost. There are plenty of adjustable dividers in the main compartment. I am only using a few of them and my gear is still well-protected. Has a torso belt for those who would like to carry the bag this way. But because of its' size, I think it might look a little silly to have this bag strapped to your body. This bag is CHUNKY. It's great for storing your gear and for transporting your stuff from one place to another. But, I would not want to carry this bag on a day hike or while sight-seeing in the city. I got my new bag at a great price! Do a search in E-bay.
Strengths:
Plenty of pockets and room for equipment. Padded shoulder strap. Nice top handle. Well-padded. Very versitile divider system. Bag sits upright and doesn't fall over. Looks nice. "Carry-on" size.
Weaknesses:
Chunky shape. Not for theasual tourist! Designed for people who carry a fair amount of gear.
Big Bag. That is the best description for this product. I know there are larger, but this is a big bag for the average photographer. The advertisements say 2 pro camera bodies and 4-5 lenses. I pack a Nikon F5 with a 35-70 zoom attached. Also in the bag, 17-34 zoom, 80-400 zoom, 60mm macro, 16mm fisheye, Metz 54MZ3, extra batteries, all the lens hoods, film and a Spectra Pro meter. And thats inside the bag. I like the depth as any lens can be mounted on the camera and stored in the bag. I prefer Tamracs lens bridge setup, but this works fine. The front pocket compartment could have been a little larger. I could only fit two 77mm filters in their cases there. the top pocket is fairly useless, awkward to get to and very flat. Waist belt is a load off the shoulders. Tripod belts are useless unless you use it off the bag for some other purpose. The snap locks are suppose to provide instant access to the bag, I wish they would have had an overlap flap to protect the bag when not zippered shut.
Strengths:
Size. Holds about every lens I need. After seeing how airport handlers toss luggage around, decided I will always carry my camera gear.
Weaknesses:
There are film loops on the side, useless. Give me extra pockets instead.
Zipper is suppose to be weather proof, but I would prefer an overlap flap to cover it anyway.
Wish they would offer colors other than just black.
This bag can get very heavy. Wish they would come up with accessory straps to convert to backpack carrying mode.
Good bag to hold a typical set of SLR + four lenses+flash+accessories. Very robust, nice paddings, tough outer shell, looks bulletproof. Two buckes on the top are very handy, allow you to keep the bag unzipped providing easy access to the main compartment when you are on the run. Belt is a real bonus, helps to balance
the bag on the shulder.
Strengths:
Provides a good protection for your gear,
Has enough space to hold everything
which you really may need.
Weaknesses:
A bit heavy, the tripod straps are just for
fun: you cannot use them to hold any normal sized tipod, perhaps a small monopod only. Not a cheap bag.
I have 8 camera bags and this is the best so far. It can fit my D30, Canon 100-400, 16-35, 50, 70-200 F4 all with either of those attached to the camera. It also fits my 550EX flash. I also carry a small lowepro S&F bag to carry lens hoods, filters and other accessories. Perfect so I dont have to mess around with the huge bag.
Strengths:
perfect size. stands upright and has plastic feet. Solid and rugged.
