Review 1 of 64

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

This camera is a very nice piece of equipment, a real keeper. I've been using it for over a year now and I still enjoy it.

Strengths:

- Well built - High quality lens that works well in macro mode - Great price/performance ratio. A Canon with similar quality lens would cost you at least 2x more - A bargain for a professional work - CF card support - A real fun to use

Weaknesses:

- Requires a lot of battery power. I highly recommend use of 1900 mAh NiMH batteries or stronger with a high quality charger. - Slow writing speed, but not so relevant for outdoor and portrait work. There is no need to buy CF cards faster than 4x, because writing speed will not improve

Review 2 of 64

Price Paid:  $1050.00 from Ebay

Summary:

Yes.. the buffer is slow between shots, yes.. the lens is not interchangeable and yes.. the extension lenses are expensive. Is this really a surprise to anyone ? To compare the performance of a digital camera with film camera is like comparing a laptop with a typewriter. I feel like olympus went the right way with the non interchangeable lenses. If you search the web long enough you will find that the best and most expensive digital slr cameras such as Nikon D1 has problems with dust collecting on the CCD chip. To fix this problem you either have to take the time to read up on cleaning directions or send it back to Nikon and spend gazillion $ and have down time. So to put it all in perspective, a little downtime between shots doesn't seem to be all that bad. As far as not being able to preview it fast enough on the field... ten years ago we didn't have that problem.

Strengths:

A tank... good build.. nice size.

Weaknesses:

None

Review 4 of 64

Price Paid:  $980.00 from bestpriceaudiovideo.

Summary:

For the price, this is the best digital made under $1000. at the time of this writing. I've taken some absolutely stunning vacation photos in Mexico. The colors are true and with the included Photoshop Elements software, you can even tweak under/over exposure shots to perfection. It's a beautifully designed camera that feels great in your hands. Loaded with features.

Strengths:

Very easy to work with. It doesn't take long to master the many features. The buttons are well placed and the menu is very easily accessed. It accepts both smart media and compact flash memory cards simultaneously. At High Quality setting, with two 128mb cards installed, you can take about 300 pix, about 150 at Super High Quality. The 3.9 megapixel is sufficient to print crisply up to 13"x19".

Weaknesses:

My main gripe and it's important to me: fastest shutter speed is only 1/640 and the smallest aperture is only f11. This limits what I can do with this camera. I took some pix of flying geese the other day at 1/640 and they were unacceptable. Their wings were completely blurred out. And the f11 aperture limits your depth of field.

Price Paid:  $1700.00 from BH

Summary:

Field test for 2-3 years it still giving me no problem shot more than 2000+ & picture quality (with the right printer Epson1280)always impress myself & my friends(who used films & digital camera).I took photos for Kids & night firework with manual setting & focuing .All come out well as expected (good thing about digital as you can shoot till you like but sometime you'll have to know to get it right in the 1st time ,no 2nd retake).Camera control all feel right in the 1st place ,now I see many other camera design like the E-10 !! For 3year it's design still going strong not outdated(in less than 6 month)like many other company.

Strengths:

The dual storage media (SM or CF) can be selected at the push of a button. 1.Focusing is fast and very accurate for an autofocus system. In fact as accurate my Contax . 2.use bothCF & SM memomery cards are a super plus . 3. Take in any MH-batteries (with 1hr fast charger&with very fast battery changing spare housing ,order from Oly 4. very well make lens especially for macro work (with maual focus or auto). Color quality very true to life. 5. well logical layout for all the control 6. entire camera is solid & quality build A+ 7. It's a bargain for professional work!!

Weaknesses:

1.slow in review 2. slow in processing data if shooting continue mode 3. limited shutter speed <640 but a plus when it can sync with any flash on 4.weak flash output (so you need another flash unite ) 5.E-20 process slower than the E-10 & expect little in terms of quality improvement but price more than E-10
