Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $2.00 from Walgreens

Summary:

Agfa Vista 100 is the same film sold at Walgreens as their store brand 100 speed film. This film delivers accurate color reproduction without being overly saturated or contrasty. I don't think the grain is as fine as others have stated, but for 4x6 prints from 35mm the grain is acceptable. Sharpness is not as good as other films that I have used, but for snapshots it's acceptable. One advantage of the Walgreens film is that it's available in 12 exposure 35mm cassettes, that I find handy for a quick shoot.

Strengths:

Inexpensive Good color

Weaknesses:

Not nearly as sharp as Fuji Reala

Similar Products Used:

Fuji Reala, Agfa 100 Ultra, Kodak Portra 400UC

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $2.00 from B+H

Summary:

This is a really awesome folm for portriature, with very fine grain and excellent color accuracy. However, I would not reccomend it for sunrise/sunset photography. I find the colors to be too unsaturated in most cases. But it is an excellent film for portraiture.

Strengths:

excellent color rendition, fine grain

Weaknesses:

saturation, sunset/rise photography

Similar Products Used:

most fugi print films, kodak portra VC 160, royal gold, gold

Customer Service:

never used. great web site.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $1.00 from Supermarket

Summary:

This is a great all-round film from landscapes to portraiture. I''ve developed this film at Fuji, Kodak and Konica labs and have been satisfied. Skin tones are well rendered and neutral. However, I can''t say I''m too happy with the lack of "punch" from the greens and blues.

Strengths:

Price (Cheap!) Fine-grain (obviously) for enlargements Saturated reds

Weaknesses:

Greens/Blues

Similar Products Used:

Fuji, Agfa, Konica and Kodak

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $2.00 from B&H

Summary:

Excellent general purpose film. Blows away the Kodak Royal Gold (grain & saturation). Compared to Superia / Reala, the Agfa has similar grain with slightly deeper blues & greens. Compared with Elite Chrome, color rendention is just as accurate when on PAPER. Elite is slightly sharper with a finer grain. For a print film, you can't go wrong with the Agfa Vista 100.

Strengths:

-very rich, brilliant, saturated colors
-true color with "eye technology"
-fine grain
-wide exposure latitude

Weaknesses:

If you don't compensated -1/2 stop when using a polarizing filter, you will end up with overly saturated / deep colors...great for landscapes, careful with the portraits though.

Similar Products Used:

Kodak Royal Gold 100
Fuji Superia Reala 100
Kodak Elite Chrome 100
