About Flashram_Peter_AUS
My name is Peter Schuck and I am trained as a nurse. I have
had many jobs over the years, the first as an apprentice motor mechanic,
when I was 15. I couldn't see myself with grease all
over me every day and decided the armed services might be a good idea.
As an army cadet, I enjoyed the time
I spent on manoeuvres and picked the Air Force as it seemed the nicer of the
three services, what with planes and all.
I discharged from the Air Force just after the collapse of the Vietnam War. I often wonder how my life would be different if I'd
stayed in the armed service. Would I have met my wife and would we have our
wonderful children?
After the armed forces I worked for the Government in the Department of
Immigration - a dead head job - finding files, shuffling paper, but never actually doing anything to help anyone. Next, I went to nursing
school. That is where I met my wife. After nursing school I worked at different hospitals, saved lives, and
injured my back for the first time. My back injury changed me emotionally as well as professionally. I couldn't work as a nurse and eventually got a job working for the Australian Taxation Office
where I worked for 11 1/2 years. But I wanted to get back to nursing and after 15 years was able to return.
I was enjoying it, feeling at home in operating theatres, but unfortunately
injured my back again. I've been completely unable to work as a nurse, since.
So what did I do? I got interested in photography and discovered the people at
PhotographyREVIEW.com.
I started a computer business in 1993, which I run from home. I have a good knowledge of computers
and feel comfortable offering advice to people on a range of computer-related issues.
My computer and Internet knowledge is self-taught and Web design is one of my passions. I find a desire to help others is one of my main
motivations to learn more. I hope I can bring that to the Internet and Web Design forum as well as the other forums that I participate in on this site.
I don't profess to be an expert, more a Jack of all Trades and Master of
None. But I think I have a lot to offer to this community. I care about people and my advice comes from the heart.
I hope we all get something out of the Internet and Web Design forum and grow together.
