Summary:
Good way to get started in underwater photography; it does give you a bit too much to do though; often enough in difficult conditions too. Focussing I have always found the hard part resulting in a lot of missed shots that would have otherwise been good. My fault though; not the camera. Rangefinder would have been nice all the same. Nikonos V next stop.

Strengths:
Robust.
Relatively inexpensive.
Takes good pictures when you get everything right.

Weaknesses:
Not easy getting everything right! Estimating focussing distance is a real bind. Requires practise to get good. (As with anything)

Summary:
I've used it for 5 years with all lenses (no floods) and have sinced moved to a housed Nikon but I still rate this camera. It is a good value for money entry system and for me was better value than a Nikonos. Used within it's limits it's a very capable camera - the trick is to learn its limits. Quality is fine for transparency and enlargements up to 8*10. If you want better than this get a housed camera. Pretty accurate meter
Quite robust (even though it is plastic)
Good introduction to UW photography

Weaknesses:
Requires a different style of photography
1:3 macro framer prone to breakage
Very poor instruction leaflets

MM II-EX Underwater Camera

Summary:
Great camera for getting into the world of U/W Photography. Combined with the YS-60 strobe and the wide angle and macro lenses you can get a great system for the money. I will use this exclusively until I upgrade to a Housed system.

Strengths:
Easy to use, Ability to change lens while underwater is a big plus. I would prefer and autofocus for underwater use, but with the W/A lens, focus is preset which makes for a true point and shoot technology.

Weaknesses:
Faulty rear latch caused a flood on the first use, but Sea&Sea replaced immediately and all is well now.
