About Alison
I suppose my first memory of photography was, as a small child, watching my Father take pictures and develop his own films at our home.

My Mother was a painter and used to Exhibit and sell her work in our home town.

My brother and sister's specialize in other fields. Among them are Carpentry, Cross Stitch, Knitting, Crocheting, Sugar Craft for Cakes (some of this work can be seen in my wedding gallery on my website), Drawing, Painting and of course, Photography. So I feel the artistic streak runs through my whole family.

I have enjoyed all kinds of photography for 26 years but became more serious about Portraiture with the birth of my first child, 21 years ago. Since then my love for photography has grown even more.

Joining PR was one of the best things I ever did. The critique given to me here felt harsh at first but I took it on board and learned from it. Because of good honest CC I feel my skills have grown to a level that I never believed was possible.

The community spirit here is second to none. With everyone sharing their family pics and events they have attended.

I can't fault any of the forums here. The mods are ALWAYS here to help and many others jump in and share their wealth of experience freely.

I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful family.
