Strength:

Small size, light weight, uses 49mm filters, image quality very good, inexpensive (new and secondhand).

Weakness:

Absolutely None!

If you need a short telephoto, that is tiny, relatively fast and turns in consistently good results, this lens fits the bill. Having used it for over ten years now, it is stil one of my favorite lenses. An excellent lens to take travelling as it is so small.

Strength:

Compact, rugged, sharp, contrasty, no obvious distortions. It uses the small 49mm filters that most of the shorter Zuiko lenses use. An absolute must-own lens for any Zuikoholic. Very wide applications and fast enough for a lot of low light work with the new fast films.

Weakness:

You will probably pay more for this one than the longer and just-as-fast 135mm f2.8 Zuiko, due to it''s huge popularity.

Amazingly compact and fairly light, yet the photo quality is excellent. The miniaturization seems to have exacted no optical penalties whatsoever. Mine is an early model single-coated silver nose version, but it is still very contrasty and sharp. I see no obvious faults in any of the photos I have taken.

Customer Service

Never used Olympus service. I buy only used Olympus gear and Camtech does all my service work. They do a very good job.

Strength:

* Good resolution and contrast
* Good bokeh
* Compact size
* Light weight

Weakness:

(None)

Excellent lens for portraits and other subjects where full frame compostion and/or out-of-focus background is required, or just for 'seeing over people's heads', e.g. at the theatre. My own example is the older, single coated version; however, the optical quality seems excellent.

Model Reviewed: OM-Zuiko 100mm f2.8

Strength:

A great lens - very sharp, excellent contrast - and small enough to keep on the camera with the standard OM eveready case.

Weakness:

Nope. A very good performer.

One of my favorite Zuiko lenses, excellent for portaits and isolating little details, outstandingly sharp with good bokeh (out of focus portion of image), and remarkably small and light for this focal length.
