Superb image quality. Very low flare. Light weight and compact. Fast.

Expensive, but worth it! White lettering on front is sometimes discernible in macro subjects. (Most macro lenses, including Olympus's OM-Series, leave the front black and put lettering on the side.)

Can't access the manual focus ring with the lens hood inverted in the storage position. (Might as well use the hood, then! :-)

What a great piece of glass! Superb optics, solid fit-n-finish, good feel.

I use it primarily for jewelry photography. It is both contrasty, and sharp -- a rare combination.

People see my shots with this lens and go "WOW!"

It has a concave front element, which is a bit weird to see, but it appears to reduce flare. I've shot right into the sun with this lens, with little noticeable flare.

The f2 maximum aperture is great for portraiture. My students often want to have "fuzzy backgrounds" like you easily get with film cameras, but their small aperture zooms simply will not let them do that. (Although this lens is too sharp for portraiture on all but perfect subjects -- you'll need to soften things in Photoshop afterward... :-)

Summicron 50 mm f/2

Very sharp even wide open. Sharp also at the edges. No vignetting, no distortion, no chromatic abberations, didn't notice any problems with flare yet. Nice bokeh (7 aperture blades, which form almost a circle) Lens weights only 300g and is sealed against rain and dust.

Slow AF, no internal focusing, only 1:2

One of the best lenses I have ever used. AF is slow and it does not have internal focusing. 1:1 magnifiation would also be great. Otherwise it is almost as perfect as it gets. I do not have long time experience yet and only tried it on 5MP and 8MP cameras (Olympus E-1 and E-300) so others might find some flaws when used on (future) cameras with higher resolving sensors. Test image of the center (100% crops) at all apertures: http://www.drosophyllum.com/Foto/Zuiko50_2.jpg Works nice with the EX-25 extension tube (gives 1:1) but that combination requires good light for AF. Makes also a good portrait lens if f2,0 is fast enough for your needs. (same DOF as a 100mm/4 lens on 35mm cameras)
