Strength:

OMG! What a splendid lens! I call it my "bag of primes."
It is tack-sharp at any aperture, at any focal length.
It appears to be equally sharp with the EC-14 teleconverter, for an effective 141mm @ ƒ2.8.

Weakness:

•Yes, it is big and heavy. It is also one-of-a-kind. I fully expect a lens that is a full stop faster to be bigger and heavier.
• I don't like "focus by wire." It would have been nice if it had a clutched mechanical focus.
• Auto focus has been accurate and speedy enough for me, but a sports shooter might find it on the slow side. • Subject to flare — use the hood!
