Love this lens. I use it for night time shoots (stars) and landscapes. It's f1.8 throughout its 18-35 range is great. It doesn't come with image stabilization which for me is fine as I use a tripod. It is just ever so heavyer then my 18-200 Canon lens that is my ever day lens. I have it attach to a Canon rebel t6i. I think for the price it great, it let me take out 2 other lens from my backpack which means it becomes lighter and the nice low light capability makes for nice clean photos in different settings. Attach are photos that I took with the lens. I just cropped the photos and adjusted the brightness so the stars pop more.

Excellent build and image quality

One needs to use this lens with care due to the shallow depth of field.

This is a classy lens for APS sensor cameras in every way. Build quality is first rate with smooth zoom and focusing action. It is a perfect match for my Canon 70D (or a 7D)
Image quality stopped down is razor sharp with virtually no distortion or vignetting. At F1.8 it is remarkable; a touch of vignetting an mild barreling at 18mm st close distances but compared to my 24-105 F4 L on my FF Canon the 70D Sig 18-35 combination; the IQ and bokeh on the Sig is far superior with a lot less distortion.

I compared the 70D 18-35 with my 5D Mk2 using the new Canon 24-70 F2.8. Taking the same shots wide open the sharpness. colour and bokeh of the Sigma was virtually identical to that of the $2000 Canon L series lens. I could not say at close inspection of the images which lens/camera was being used.
Because of the F1.8 aperture one needs to be careful with focusing at wide apertures and close range. For a head shot if you use the lens wide open; you will not have enough depth of field to keep your subject fully in focus. This is not a fault of the lens; but uses who upgrade from a kit lens will have to be very careful.
I use this lens for event photography, often in very low light conditions. it is good for video too as the zoom action is silky smooth and the silent a/f compliments the live view focus on the 70D very well. I have even tried it out on my Full Frame 5D mk 2. It works at 35mm with some vignetting; but the image circle is too small for shorter focal lengths.
After 6 months using this lens with my 70D; I have been highly impressed an can recommend this for those who want to get the best out of APS cameras like Canons 70D or Nikon's 7200.
