Strength:

INEXPENSIVE, NOT BADLY CONSTRUCTED (TYPICAL SIGMA ASPHERICAL BUILD). ENABLES YOU TO GET INTO THE SUPERWIDE GAME WITH NOT MUCH DOUGH.

Weakness:

NOT SATISFIED YET AS TO EDGE SHARPNESS.

I'm just going to make a few brief comments. The copy of this lens that I have takes an 82mm filter, not a 77mm as posted here. I've only shot two rolls of 400 color negative with it, and I can unequivocally say that the central portions of the images are quite sharp. The jury is still out on the edge sharpness. Some prints exhibited excellent sharpness, while others did not. Could just be my technique. I didn't use a tripod. I would suggest stopping down as much as possible. Lens hoods for this superwide 82mm are somewhat hard to come by. You might not like paying for 82mm filters. Cheaper filters are obviously going to degrade the final image somewhat.

MINE'S A USED LENS, AND IT WORKS FINE SO FAR. IT'S A CRAP-SHOOT AS TO WHAT SIGMA WOULD DO WITH ME.
