    Strength:

Dead easy to use and repair shops advise that T50 is easy to fix. Auto wind works well. To change exposure, simply set on a tripod at 1/60 manual and change lens settings based on meter reading from my AE1. Also changing film speed settings works where high contrast etc applies. Works with FD lenses. Brilliant with an 85mm f1.8.

    Weakness:

This would have been an absolute winner had they had a manual setting.

I have an old AE1 and brought a second body to go with the 6 lens that I have. Handy to have a P&S camera for quick shots. Then I found I was getting better results than the AE1. I have enjoyed it so much I got a second one for my daughter. She can then shoot easily thru' a decent lens.

    Strength:

It''s reliable, and fun to use when using casually for fun. Simple to use, light wieght

    Weakness:

Can''t set shutter speed or aperature.

This Camera is a reliable camera, but doesn not allow control over its use. You can not set the shutter or appature. I am a beginner Photography student, and this camera was difficult to learn on, due to the lack of control over the camera.

    Strength:

Easy to use, Very solid body, Batteries last forever

    Weakness:

The number of exposures indicator broke years ago and now I can never remember how many photos are on a roll

I bought this camera in Texas way back in 1987 from a pawn shop. The camera takes excellent photos considering that it does everything automatic. I''ve really never been disappointed with this gem and will continue to use it for as long as it works

    Customer Service

    Never needed it

    Strength:

Availability of lenses. Easy to use.

    Weakness:

The lack of manual control over picture taking makes it a poor choice for anyone who hopes to learn anything about photography using the T50. The meter failed after 6 years of relatively light use.

This is a point-and-shoot with interchangable lenses. Only, it does a poor job as a point-and-shoot. For example, most point-and-shoot cameras can handle backlighting quite well. The T50 cannot. This camera is not worth buying, even at a low price.

    Customer Service

Never used: I decided that my T50 wasn't worth fixing.

    Strength:

Simple to operate. Most FD lenses are compatable.Light weight and auto wind. Viewfinder light that tells when it is too dark and you need a flash. Light weight.Batteries seem to last forever.

    Weakness:

No manual operation. You can set the f-stop but not the shutter speed. Needs built in flash.

This camera has worked well as a back up while shooting weddings and birthday parties. My wife has a terrible time as she says setting all the gadgets on my other cameras. I put a 28mm lense on this camera and she is happy. The camera consistantly produces quality pictures. Light weight and simple operation. Very close to a point and shoot but you do have to focus.

    Customer Service

Camera has been trouble free. Have not used Customer service for any of my Cannon cameras.

    Strength:

Great little camera for the money. Super meter. Easy to take some great shots

    Weakness:

No manual shutter speed setting. Use a dedicated flash. Problems using others since you can't go full manual with it.

I had always heard great things about this camera and always wanted to see if they were true. Finally found one reasonably priced on an auction and they are - makes it very easy to take some great shots. Not the perfect camera but I have a couple - one with an 80-200 zoom and one with a 50mm. Easy to grab and go out and just take pictures when you don't want to worry about adjusting anything. I'm always surprised how well my prints come out. Especially those I thought were lost causes. You won't learn a lot about manual photography with it but you will have fun.

    Strength:

Simplicity and ease of use. Lense interchangability.Easy on batteries. Film speeds from 25-1600. High reliability factor.

    Weakness:

No manual shutter speed control. If you set the apperture the shutter speed stays at 1/60.

You can obtain results greater than p&s's. It is wonderfull for people who don't want to worry about exposure. Good for slides.

    Strength:

Durable, easy for novice to use. It's the first camera I've owned. Has taken 1000's of great pictures. If it wasn't stolen I wouldn't be buying a new camera.

    Weakness:

Not much control over the camera. You only get to set the film speed and manually focus. A little noisy. Heavy by modern standards. No auto film advance.

It's not the kind of camera that will turn heads with photography buffs. It is a reliable, durable camera that has served me well for years and has made me a lifelong Canon buyer. It can probably be purchased cheaply on Ebay.

    Strength:

    very simple to operate
    uses Canon FD lenses!
    uses AA batteries

    Weakness:

    no control of exposure
    noisy shutter & winder

The T50 is basically a P&S (point & shoot) camera that just happens to allow you to use Canon FD lenses! You can't select shutter speed or aperture, it's all done by the camera. This is NOT a good camera to learn photography with, due to the lack of control. OK for backup body.

    Customer Service

no longer suppoeted by Canon - although some shops still service these bodies
