DESCRIPTION

F-601 was the first Nikon SLR model announced for the '90. It is an AF SLR with a moderately powerful and incorporated with a multi function built-in Speedlight (GN:13) that can even handle matrix balance fill flash. Metering systems used was impressive, it provides Matrix, Center-weighted and the Nikon's F4's type of spot metering function. Additional useful features are auto exposure bracketing, rear curtain sync etc. The shutter speed range was an equally impressive 30 sec - 1/2000 sec, top sync speed is a weaker 1/125 sec. and it has a Quartz date databack as F-601QD as option. The F-601 was an interesting alternative and attractive option as a camera in the sued market with its wide arrays of function and capability. The automatic film advance is the weaker link that can be found, it has only 2 fps speed rate.
