Discontinued? My sweetheart little Sony DSC-N2 is discontinued?
How sad for the many of you who now will have no chance to experience its delights and satisfactions.
I was wary when I bought mine three years ago at Circuit City. But an Open Box deal brought the usual $399 price down $100, and I was after all 10 of the megapixels which this camera possessed. 'I'll just have to get used to using the 3" LCD screen to sight in on my subject,' I told myself; 'and to having that same screen double as a Touch Screen on which to register my settings (macro, flash, timer, etc),' An extra battery and a larger MS-Pro Duo Memory Stick and I was off.
Now, three years later, I have thousands of images of all types, taken under all manner of conditions; and hours of video, also taken under a wide variety of conditions. Because the camera is small, relatively weather-proof, and quick to setup and use, many of those images and videos are precious and personal. I have owned a dozen or more cameras and never found the equal of my N2. I honestly marvel at Sony's enineering competence in producing such a wonderful product, and thank my lucky stars at having one fall into my hands. -Gary Blanchard
