Strength:

Small, light weight, 2X zoom. Easy loading due to APS format along with 3 pic modes. Idiot proof, with a bit of coaching. Infinity mode, focus lock, night mode.

Weakness:

If you want sharp photos and don't want to rely on luck of the camera catching what you want in focus, you MUST use focus lock.

I bought this camera for my mom. I'm writing this review based on her experience with this camera. This camera was a Christmas present, she took it up to Alaska with her, on 2 occasions. I gave her some tips for composition and read the instruction manual with her, so she would know the camera well enough to take good photographs on her trip. When she arrived home the first time and we developed the photos, I wasn't all that impressed with them. There are a couple of factors here that aren't the cameras fault. 1. It's autofocus, it had a hard time picking what to focus on when there was a blizzards worth of snow. 2. It's auto exposure, when shooting in snow, the photos sometimes appeared to be over-exposed. I am used to using SLR's and full manual equipment and always getting the results I intend on getting... So... I won't give this little camera a bad review. She took it back to Alaska in early spring. The photos she came back with, (along with some more advice on how to use the focus lock and infinity mode) didn't turn out half bad! I own the cultish T550 camera, like this bad boy, infinity mode and focus lock are a must if one wants sharp photos.
