Strength:

The size is great for taking on holiday. I have had no trouble with under exposure or blurry photos. Some nice landscapes with the panoramic setting.

Weakness:

None that I can find, apart from the fact that it''s APS, so the quality isn''t as good as 35mm - but this is to do with the film and not the camera itself!

Good overall camera, nice and compact. Also easy to use. Some previous reviews seem to have trouble with the sharpness and under exposure - can''t see this being due to the camera, maybe dependent on where the photos were taken to be printed...?

Strength:

Small, good zoom, decent picture quality.

Weakness:

Lots of red-eye, seems like it might be a little flimsy, I would prefer a metal body.

I bought it because of the size and the zoom, which is a pretty amazing combination. Fits very easily in my pocket, and so far the results have been very satisfactory. Lot of red-eye on the flash though, but I haven''t spent much time figuring out what mode to use. Overall I like it.

Strength:

Nice zoom. Handy in size.

Weakness:

I bought one of these cameras and within 2 weeks it was acting funny. Camera wouldn't turn off when instructed, zoom wouldn't retract, camera took too long to snap pic. I traded it in for another (because I liked the price and zoom for an APS), and although I didn't have the mechanical problems, the panoramics are only 11 inches, many pictures have an overall "fuzzy" quality and the indoor pictures turn out TERRIBLE with any of the several flash settings. The "instruction" pamphlet is also weak.

My sister has a Samsung, not sure what model, it's not APS but takes panoramic pics. Her panoramics are over 12 inches and hers does a little better indoors. I'd advise getting that over this camera if you're stuck on Samsung. Otherwise, try another brand.

Customer Service

I'm taking this back to Fred Meyer and getting my money back. Not sure what I'll buy, but not a Samsung.

Strength:

There is enormous power in this little camera. I rather like the APS concept, allowing me to frame objects differently.

Weakness:

Yikes! There are many out of focus pictures, and DIN 100 in desert ended up with many washed out landscapes. Indoor, and overcast days had good exposures. Flash photos seem fine.

Not a bad camera, but they really need to get a better focus algorithm, and the washing out in bright conditions is inexcusable.

Customer Service

I have not tried to return or exchange this camera yet, but I am going to try.

This camera was to replace a Samsung Impax 200e that did not have the zoom, but shot fine APS photos.

Strength:

The specs and ease of use of this camera made it very appealing. The choice of picture size and compact camera size made it seem like the perfect vacation camera.

Weakness:

I brought this camera with me on vacation one month after buying it. While going out on a long-awaited whale watching trip, the film door jammed and had to be pryed open. It then would not lock and I had no camera for the rest of the trip. When developed, the photos were blurry, unevenly dark and light and a real disappointment.

This was my 2nd big disappointment with a Samsung product and I will never buy from them again. APS is nice, but for quality, go with 35mm.

Customer Service

I did not want to get the camera fixed. Just wanted to return it which Wal-Mart did without any problem.

I don't own an Impax 300i, but bought one for my mom. She is entralled by it, and I see the results of the camera. Amazingly good shots, consistently sharp and clean.

Strength:

I didn't. Photographic results were disappointing. Problems with sharpnes and flair. I thought I was buying a less expensive Rollei Nano 80 (the specs are almost identical including the number of elements and groups in the lens, shutter speeds, data printing.

Weakness:

Lens flair in any sort of backlight situation. General lack of sharpness. The pictures were not out of focus, but sure did not look as good as the Elph 370z's.

I would not recommend the camera. A check with Samsung USA (simplyamazing.com)did not give me any sense of confidence that they knew anything about the product. Lens specs are different on their website and actually on the camera, to name a few.

Customer Service

The dealer (Ritz Camera)allowed full credit for the Impax 300i's price against the purchase of the Elph. No restocking charge or any questions whatever.
