Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $220.00

Summary:

I initially bought the Lowepro Photo Trekker 2...through internet. When it got home, I was far to imagine it was so big from outside, not to mention the weight (over 4kg). Although this Crumpler (I bought the largest model, the ''Brian Hottub'') does not fit just about as much equipment, it is much lighter, and I can still house in there a d2x, 17-55, 12-24, 70-200, 10.5, 50 and 60mm plus teleconverter and filters without any issues..on top of a laptop, although in that case yes the zippers tend to start being a bit tight to close easily. Very good ratio external size / packaging capability. In addition, it really does not look like a photo bag, which I appreciate. The only reason I would choose the Lowerpro Photo Trekker 2 would be in case I had to load all my gear in it and trek for hours...with 14kg packed, the crumpler tends to be painful after a while. I bought the optional west belt to improve things, but then the zippers hardly go all the way down any more, hence difficult to fully opened up the bag.

Strengths:

Very well built and finished, nice internal arrangment and flexibility, does not look like a photo bag.

Weaknesses:

Optional waist belt does not allow to fully open the backpack easily.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $150.00 from eBay

Summary:

This is a nice backpack. Well padded with lots of room. Dosn't scream I have alot of camera gear steal me!! It opens from the inside where your back touches the back pack. Thats really cool because if your in a hurry you dont have to zip it up to carry it on your back. With the pack not being the usuall shape on the inside the deviders can be kinda hard to get situated. Laptop holder is reomveable and so is the camera pack part so it can be used as a normal backpack too. When full of gear and a laptop its kinda hard to get zipped.

Strengths:

Well built, well padded. Comfortable design. No one knows its camera gear (less likely to be stolen).

Weaknesses:

Wouldnt really call theis a weakness just a annoyance: the deviders are a little hard to deal with but once they are set your done!!
