$220.00 Summary: I initially bought the Lowepro Photo Trekker 2...through internet. When it got home, I was far to imagine it was so big from outside, not to mention the weight (over 4kg).
Although this Crumpler (I bought the largest model, the ''Brian Hottub'') does not fit just about as much equipment, it is much lighter, and I can still house in there a d2x, 17-55, 12-24, 70-200, 10.5, 50 and 60mm plus teleconverter and filters without any issues..on top of a laptop, although in that case yes the zippers tend to start being a bit tight to close easily.
Very good ratio external size / packaging capability.
In addition, it really does not look like a photo bag, which I appreciate.
The only reason I would choose the Lowerpro Photo Trekker 2 would be in case I had to load all my gear in it and trek for hours...with 14kg packed, the crumpler tends to be painful after a while. I bought the optional west belt to improve things, but then the zippers hardly go all the way down any more, hence difficult to fully opened up the bag. Strengths: Very well built and finished, nice internal arrangment and flexibility, does not look like a photo bag. Weaknesses: Optional waist belt does not allow to fully open the backpack easily.
