nature, weddings, portraits, sports. I would rather have it and the weight than not and have it weigh less. Leg locks were desirerable, but twist would have worked too. Hawthorne Mobile Truck Repair

Strength:

Well designed, lightweight, comfortable.

Weakness:

No tripod holder!!!

The thing that absolutely amazed me when I initially saw this bag was the 'sling' option, wherein I could access my camera and gear by "slinging" the bag around my body and grab my camera. No need to take the bag off your body!!! If your arms are not too long (like mine) you can actually use the bag as an elbow brace in the front sling position.

There are generous compartments and mini compartments within to store extra cards and all manner of necessary gear. There are sufficient places on the bag to hang your water and the shoulder strap is cushioned for comfort. There is as well a cushioned pad on the lower left side of the bag which acutually aids in balancing the pack and provides comfort from rubbing. I suppose at this point I should mention that I purchased the AW 200 which is larger than the AW 100. Both packs feature preventive snaps on the main compartment which only allow you to unzip the pack so far as to prevent camera and gear from inadvertently falling out when accessing same. When unsnapped you can open the pack fully and grab additional gear.

I really cannot think of any type of photographer who would not appreciate the overall design of this pack. We all have varying needs, but for me, being able to walk with a lightweight, well balanced pack that I don't have to take off in order to access my camera and gear fits the bill. The only addition this pack needs is a REAL tripod holder. It's great to have a nice pack, but who wants to lug a necessary item such as a tripod. I would purchase another AW200 with this feature in a heartbeat. It is for this reason, I give the pack an overall rating of a 4.
