Price Paid:  $350.00 from online zero hallibur

Summary:

I am on my second 103 case. My first case made 4 trips to Viet Nam, 5 trips to the Middle East, 7 trips to Central and South America. It had been sandblasted in the desert, exposed to monsoon rains, esposed to salt spray, dropped from a train platform, dropped by a taxi driver, and even dropped from the top of an army tank and generaly abused. It always protected the camera, lenses and accessories inside, until it was partially melted in a house fire that got hot enough to deform steel, and the hinge and one latch still worked !

If you are serious about protecting your gear, especially when traveling, these are the best cases you can buy.

Highly recommended without qualification or reservation.

Strengths:

Incredable strength and durability.
The ultimate protection for camera equipment.
Customer programable combination locks.
Matching Suit Cases, Attache Cases, etc are available.

Weaknesses:

The obivously high quality is an inviting target for thieves, so I use custom made sholder strap with small steel cables built into it. This prevents a thief from cutting the strap in a snatch and run.

The prices may seem high but you get what you pay for.

Matching Zero Halliburton Suit Cases.

Customer Service:

Excellent, delivered the cases as promised the order was placed, and replacement foam insterts when needed.

Provided FREE replacement parts to repair a suit case zipper that was cut by TSA Inspectors, who did not have a TSA # 2 key.

My only complaint is they could not replace the burned case under warranty after only 25 years faithful service. LOL

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $73.00 from Olympic Camera (in 1

Summary:

I bought the 101 model back in 1978 to haul around my 35mm camera system. Many years later I reconfigured the interior to hold my Celestron spotting scope and it's been protecting those optics for 25 years. The foam interior requires periodic replacement due to natural decay, I'm on the third set of foam inserts. Not bad for 30 years of use. The exterior still looks shiny and new and all the hardware works perfectly.

Strengths:

Professional looks command respect so people tend to be a bit more careful around it. The silver finish keeps interior cooler when in direct sunlight and the shock resistant foam protects the contents from harm. Superior shell is near crush proof and can be sat or stood on like a crate. Lockable case is also water resistant and has an effective dust seal.

Weaknesses:

Bottom of the case is slick and may slip on rocky surfaces. I've put a thick layer of gaffers tape there to give it some grip.
