Price Paid:  $269.00 from The Vested Interest

Summary:

It is expensive but after you see it you will be convinced it is more than reasonable at its price. It has quality written all over it. I have looked at other vests and none even come close in flexability or quality.
I highly recommend this vest to any serious photographer who shoots in the field or who has to carry 5/6 lenses and 1-2 bodies with them.

PS - When I called to order it - they asked if there was any special things I wanted to be included in the design. It was very easy to talk and deal with the company representative by phone.

Strengths:

Extremly well made from nylon parachute material with extra heavy stiching. It is light weight nylon mesh available in several different colors. The pockets are also of nylon with padding to prevent equiptment damage. The pockets are closed with velcro or snaps or zipper. There are 2 additional padded pouches that are snap attached to the sides of the vest that can hold lenses or other supplies.
Starting from the top of the vest there are pads for the shoulders and neck. The shoulders have epolettes that are functional to hold other strapped gear. At breast level there are 3 pockets on either side that can hold papers, passport, filters, small lenses etc. Further down at waist level there are additional large pockets on either side that can hold a large telephoto lens ( 80-200 F2.8 Nikkor)etc. There are smaller pockets that can be used for film etc.
Back of vest - has a large padded compartment that could hold a six pack of beverage/ or a ground cloth/ or a lunch for 2 people/ or jacket. There is also a tripod holder located upper mid back.

All zippers, snaps, etc are heavy duty and easy to operate. With this vest you almost dont need a camera bag.

Weaknesses:

The camera attachment straps have male and female couplings that permit you to either attach your camera or quickly remove it from the vest. The straps that hold it attached are long enough to permit photos to be taken with out detaching it. When the camera is detached it would have been helpful if the couplings allowed the strap to be reattached to itself and form a conventional neck like strap.

Looked at Domke, Nikon, and Tamrac - but did not use them in the field
