Summary:

Outdoor camera is fair.
As a back-up camera...perhaps. The ability to exchange lenses is great. In photography canon is great (depending where the lens is coming from)
but in video leave to much to think about.

Strengths:

Audio quality sounds better than sony PD-170. But once placed in timeline on NLEs
requires rendering sometimes ( may be because is not fully 48 KHZ...is 47 etc etc)
trend to go out of sync a little bit.

Weaknesses:

indoor or low light is a trash ! Not to mention the compression artifacts ( a lot ).
Auto focus: piece of TRASH.
NOT RECOMENDED FOR INDOOR USE. The CCDs size and technology is weak.
A color shift when zooming.
Menus and settings not that friendly.
Too heavy and awkward for shoulder.
