Price Paid:  $99.00 from Singapore Expo Hall

Summary:Hi PhotographyReview Webmaster,

I am sorry i do not know where to place my review as this camera is the latest gadget in the whole world, even the maker do not have information of its camera in website.

Model is S5W, brand is Aiptek (from Taiwan).
Bought at SGD$99, retail price is SGD$149

Pls see review below:

Review on Aiptek S5W Water-Proof Digital Camera (3meters,10Ft)

Aiptek S5W Digital Camera Specs
see quality of images, pictures and video taken by this camera at bottom of this page below

With a price tag of SGD$149, I have not much complains about this digital camera as similar models of other branded camera may costs up to a heavier tag of SGD$400-$500. Its not easy to find a underwater digital camera that costs below SGD$400 in Singapore!

Below are a summary of the pros and cons of what i thgt of this S5W digital camera.

Enjoy your reading!!!

Pls consider my blog review (with pictures and video of this new Aiptek camera S5W)

http://alanchow76.blogspot.com/2010/10/review-on-aiptek-s5w-water-proof.html

Strengths:Pros:

Cheap and low price tag of SGD$149

Aiptek S5W is a light weight camera 110grams which most primary school kids can handle comfortably.

Capable to take images and videos in any fish tanks and swimming pools of Singapore, max depth Aiptek S5W camera can withstand is 3 metres of underwater.

Great imaging tool for taking videos both above and under water during vacations (ex. P.Redang Island, Malaysia)

The rubber buttons are user-friendly and easy to read illustrations on it (not much need for reading an instruction manual to understand basic and advanced key functionss)

Large 2.7" LCD for easy review of pictures and videos taken.

Use 3 x AAA batteries (easy to find)

Accepts SD/SDHC Card up to 16GB (mass storage)

Weaknesses:Cons:

No usb ports to link up to pcs - have to use a card reader to retrieve pics/videos from sd card into my pc

No shock-proof feature - i dare not try to drop it on the floor but i think most products are made to withstand certain shock abuse

No sounds of video during playback in camera - videos' sound can be heard only during upload to website like YouTube or playback in your pc

No brand camera -some of my friends call it "AH PEK" -uncle in hokkien language, so if you are not brand conscious or do not mind friends' jesting, this is the camera for you ;D ...lol...

No internal memory - if you ran out of sd card memory, you have to delete some of the old ones to make way for new video s/ images

External SD card slot of S5W can only accept up to 16GB, i thought can go to 32 GB will be wonderful ! ;)

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Latest Buy

Summary:The Aiptek DV 3300 is a 3Mega Pixel (4Mp by interpolation) Still/video/Mp3/Web/voice recorder. It is small and light with a built-in strobe/flash. It runs on 4 AA batteries or USB power.

Strengths:Good in a pinch. Very portable (small and light). With the optional SD (up to 256Mb) card, it will take 1000+ pictures and around 2 hours of video with sound. I just purchased a DV5700 which takes up to 1Gb SD card and has a motion stabilizer (if you shake a bit while taking a video it "evens" things out for you). I will be writing a review on this in the future (haven't played with it enough yet). Overall, the DV3300 is great for beginners and have seen it advertized for a whole lot less than what I payed for it!

Weaknesses:The 4X Zoom is not physical which means it will give you a larger, but more grainy, photograph. Doesn't have rechargeable batteries so I suggest you keep some spare AA's if you're going to use it for extended periods.

Similar Products Used:Step up to the Aiptek DV5700 or (coming soon) the DV5900. These have 5 Mega pixel resolution and a battery charger is part of the package.

Customer Service:I never needed costomer service (yet) so I can't comment. It keeps on going! I haven't dropped it either, but wouldn't want to try!
