Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Nifty little camcorder, but don't buy it if you are a beginner and expect to figure out how to use it by reading the instruction manual.

Strengths:

Relatively simple to use, if you skip reading the manual.

Weaknesses:

Instruction manual is not written in logical sequential steps. 120 pages and it has you jumping all over just to get started. Canon technical support was rude.

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $540.00 from Good Guys

Summary:

I believe that the Canon ZR40 is an essential to any family. It is great for trips, and very portable. The 18x Optical Zoom is very useful in situations. Also, the still image recording is not bad, as well as the digital effects.

Strengths:

Good Value. Easy. Reliable.

Weaknesses:

The battery it comes with has a short life.
