Strengths: -Amazing quality for an 8mm camera type.
-Very Good Reliablity
-Good LCD
-Different Recording Types
-Factory Fades and Effects
-Manual and Automatic Controls
-440X Digital Zoom
Weaknesses: The 46mm lens isn't easy to find attachments for. Of coarse, a handle on top would be very useful but very rare on 8mm cameras. I made myself a handle to fix that problem. The only wide angle lens for the 46mm thread is a .5X. Ebay has some wide angle lenses of .42X and .38X, but it's not that easy to find. The battery starts to ware out after good use, but there are 3 replacements.Bottom Line: I bought this camera soon after it's release. I have had it for a good 6 years and it's still kicking. Although MiniDV's and Hardrives are the higher quality choice, the ES8000V does a fantastic job at capturing very good video quality.
