from Ebay Summary: For the price the image is incredible. I was a little worried about it being a one chip CCD. I bought it before the 3 chip Sony came out. But the image is great. It does sucks in low light though. But when lit properly it looks better then Betcam Sp. It also beats my Canon GL2 and XL1 hands down. I don't have the XL2 to compare it with. The best feature I think is the widescreen 480P that is 720 X 480 60 frames progressive scan. In native widescreen. I use magic bullet on it and transfer it to DVD and it looks phenomenal. Strengths: Great 480P and HD 720P performance.
For the price it is hard to beat the image quality.
I viewed all footage on an HD monitor then did a side by side comparison against my dv cameras and the HD10U kicked the pants off of my DV footage. It is incredibly noticeable on my HD monitor. Weaknesses: Terrible low light performance.
More drop outs then Mini DV but I am suing the new HDV tapes and they have very few drop outs..
Lacks some manual over rides.. Similar Products Used: This is the first HDV camera used.
