Summary:

I purchased this camera because of the ability to be able to download to my computer ,digital picture quality and for what I thought would be a reliable brand. So far I am disappointed with picture quality at least during play back on the camera itself. I have not been able to download to the computer. However after reading another review I apparently need extra cables. (why were they not included in the first place?). I also recently started getting an error message (EO4) where the camera will not record or playback. As of today the camera is in a box on the way back to the factory because I was informed that independant factory trained service centers are not capable of digital repairs . I do like the features of the camera but have not had a chance to really use them. I must admit that this camera had been a reconditioned model but I also had purchased another model same brand that was new and had to be returned within a week because of a completely different problem. I would not recommend buying electronic items of any kind off the www.just because of the chance that there could be a problem and that it can be a pain to resolve.

Review 2 of 5

Summary:

The Good: Very easy cam to learn. Has a lot of fun camera tricks. The Bad: Battery life is terrible, but I believe that's the norm. The ugly: My biggest complaint is regarding the resolution. I've tried every trick I know to try and squeeze better resolution from the device, with no luck. Transferring images/video to PC wasn't easy, and requires an investment in additional cables. Software that came with the cam was 2nd Rate and is not intended for experienced users.

Strengths:

Camera tricks. The various modes the camera is capable of switching to is very strong. Takes a while to learn how to switch quickly.

Weaknesses:

RESOLUTION: In my opinion this is where this product falls flat. Whether taking snapshots or regular video, the resolution returned to your pc or even vcr is marginal at best. Pixel depth is very shallow.

Review 4 of 5

Summary:

This was the first digital camcorder I've used. Overall, I'm pleased... The image stabilization was a big plus when panning zoomed shots. It's subtle and effective...

Compared to the older Sony Hi8, this is a pleasure.

Strengths:

Digital for easy import/export on the computer. Image stabilization...

Weaknesses:

Battery life, but I'm never happy with that. Especially in cold weather..

Similar Products Used:

No serious time with other digitals. A lot of use with Hi8 and Super8 handhelds...

Customer Service:

N/A
