Sony DCR-DVD301

Great pictures, fairly easy to use but the fact that it is only compatible with it's own Imagemixer software is a SERIOUS drawback (can anyone say Betamax?). This software is horrible and Sony has confirmed that due to hard coding, it is in fact the ONLY software one can use with these DCR DVD models!! I wish I'd known that - I'd NEVER have bought this one...

Imagemixer software - the absolute worst junk ever made for this AND, unbelievably, the ONLY EDITING SOFTWARE COMPATIBLE WITH THESE CAMERAS!! How could they do this?? I am pretty angry and will probably not buy a Sony product again.

They say the Imagemixer is "very good software", but the rep I spoke to had never seen or used it. No wonder - it's beyond bad...
