    Review 1 of 79

    Price Paid:  $0.00

    Summary:
Mine has the E28 error message and no longer works after less than 2 years. Why pay hundreds of dollars for Canon to fix this problem? I won't buy another canon. If you want to join me in a class action against them email deansl_2000@yahoo.con

    Strengths:
It is reasonably portable and took decent pixels for a 2m pixel camera--when it worked.

    Weaknesses:
It stopped working after about 2 years. I expect more for my money. It should have been advertised and priced as a disposable.

    Customer Service:
    Expensive.

    Review 2 of 79

    Price Paid:  $600.00 from CompUsa

    Summary:
I use this primarily for taking progress photos at my jobsite and I've used this camera for about 2 years now. The durability of the housing has really proven itself out here... this camera's been dropped, bumped, scraped, and scarred, and is still going strong! It's just the right size for me. The zoom comes in handy. The preview screen is pretty good. The 2.2 megapixels are plenty for our purpose here... I use it at the medium resolution setting and I've blown up the shots to print on 8x10 without major grain problems. I don't print on photo paper, but regular printer paper on a non-photo (HP 1220c) printer at normal quality. I had a 16mb card but just bought a 32 Mb card (72 pics!) and I like that much better. After about 3 years of use the batteries (rechargeable CE) are starting to die (i.e. loosing charge quickly). This is a great model for someone just starting out in digital photography. It has the basic features pretty well covered, but I haven't tried the other features yet. It is more expensive than some others in the same range.

    Strengths:
Size, quality of photos, durability, medium resolution is pretty good.

    Weaknesses:
It's a little on the heavy side when you fit it in your pocket... the batteries add to that.

    Review 3 of 79

Price Paid:  $500.00 from Hong Kong

    Summary:
In general a good unit. Easy to use. Quick to crank up and shoot. Had some breakdown issues which were not fixed (Typical in Hong Kong). Very good quality pics on Lowest resolution which is also recommended as you can put about 250 pics on the 32 M card

    Strengths:
Easy to use, quick to shoot.

    Weaknesses:
Needed to reset date every time I turn it on. Video/TV view adapter clapped out now electrical error. Software hard to install but once on is good.

    Customer Service:
Horrible. Problems not fixed. persistent E28 Error

    Review 4 of 79

    Summary:
This is my first digital camera. I bought it last year when I was in Japan. At first I really enjoyed this camera, but now I have some issues with it. The main problem I have is with the color balance, or lack thereof. The color just isn't quite true. I think another reviewer mentioned this too. Every picture has a slight grey tint to it, and the colors just aren't that vibrant. This can be adjusted with Photoshop, but it would be nice if I didn't have to adjust the levels for every picture I take. Also, when I take a picture in manual mode with the auto flash set, the pictures come out fine. But if I choose not to use the flash (I always prefer natural lighting), the pictures will come out blurry. This can only be remedied by setting it to fast shutter. Overall it's been a nice starter camera, but I'm ready to move on to something better.

    Strengths:
Nice clarity of photos. Compact Flash format is great. Reliable. Quite a few features.

    Weaknesses:
Color balance is off. Eats up batteries like no tomorrow. When auto flash is turned off in manual mode/normal shutter, pictures blur. Digital zoom is grainy.

    Review 5 of 79

    Summary:
I recently purchased the Canon Powershot S10 from Amazon. It was being advertised at 299 with free shipping, and came with an 8 meg CF card (don't do me any favors..) I had originally purchased the new Kodak DX 3500 which turned out to be a huge disappointment. I shipped it back the next day. The Canon has a great housing, and is compact enough to bring anywhere. Pictures seem to be of high quality, however the included photo editing software is not the greatest. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to purchase a digital camera.

    Strengths:
Excellent casing. Very well constructed. Has lots of features to satisfy all experience levels.

    Weaknesses:
Batteries! It's an absolute necessity to purchase the rechargeable battery pack. Imaging software is also a bit lackluster.
