Summary:

i own this camera. its pretty good, but i dropped it on my driveway one day and it survived, just one little crack, and still works. this is a great camera for kids though, and everyone else too cause it is cheap and a nice looking camera by a brand name you can count on

Strengths:

size
battery life
money
amount of pics per second

Weaknesses:

zoom
timer
delay when taking picture
color

Review 3 of 10

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I got this as a X-mas present, it was my first camera. I love it for point and shoot. This camera has never let me down. I think it’s a great first camera or a secondary camera for pros who don’t want to carry there SLR around on vacation. The only problem is that the accessories are all canon specific. There are no third party manufacturers for lenses or flashes

Strengths:

Light, Easy to use, Good Quality (if you know how to use it in all lighting situations), lots of modes, Great AF, Quality lens, Lots of settings and adjustments

Weaknesses:

3.2 MP, is a little weak for editing, heavy noise at high ISO, Little accessories, Weak flash, Short optical zoom, Digital zoom makes huge pixalation and noise, some modes will never be used for new photographers

Customer Service:

Never used it

Review 4 of 10

Price Paid:  $249.00 from best buy

Summary:

Unfortunately I can not be as positive about this camera as the other owners. Having owned it slightly over a year, I have found it to be noisy, slow to focus (shutter lag)and frequently yielding poor image quality, especially indoors. Often using the flash on inside pictures, I get round circles in the background or on the subject. Sometimes they are worse than at other times. Bottom line, you can't count on this camera. I've owned various Olympus digitals in the past and did not have these problems. I guess I'll go back to Olympus. Canon service offered little support and I purchased the extended warranty ($59 extra). I suspect that there is a design/electronic flaw but service says its dust particles.I can't buy that story.

Strengths:

Outdoor pictures are good. Battery life is good. Nice style, good feel.

Weaknesses:

Noisy...makes grinding noises when opening and closing. Slow focus and shutter lag. Poor image quality when inside with flash. Canon service is poor... slow or no communication. Makes excuses rather than repairs. Plastic parts somewhat flimsy.

Similar Products Used:

Olympus digitals D200, D300, D460Z

Customer Service:

Poor. Makes excuses not repairs.

Review 5 of 10

Price Paid:  $200.00 from buydig

Summary:

I'm a point and shoot type of person and I've used this camera for over a year now. I've had no problems with it or the software. It has many shooting modes, most of which I cannot tell the difference being a beginner. I shoot outdoors type stuff alot and the paroramic mode is fun to use. The software also does a good job of stiching the photos together.

Strengths:

great battery life, easy to point and shoot, add-on wide angle and tele lense avialable

Weaknesses:

after a year, i'm getting a bit worried about the battery door falling off. it doesnt seem to close as well as it did when it was new.
