Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $499.00 from Amazon.com

Summary:

I have nothing but good things to say about this camera. I am a photography novice, so it was important to find a camera that was easy to use. How does this one do? It''''s simple enough that it''''s usable without a manual. Also, its "bestshot" feature allows me to pick a type of scene (ie. children moving, candlelight, two person portrait, etc) and have the camera optimize the settings for that scene. This feature is very important for novices like me. Finally, the true test of a camera is what kind of pictures it takes. Because this camera has a cannon lens, the picture quality is very high. It''''s not the absolute best, but on a scale of 1-10 it''''s prob. around a 9.5. As always, compare pictures from this camera to pictures from any other camera you''''re considering, and see how they stack up against each other. My general impression is that the camera does better than most in low light situations, but it a slightly worse at colorful outdoor shots.

Strengths:

Best Shot, Good lens, Relatively Cheap, IBM Microdrive compatibility, Big Size (makes it easy to hold)

Weaknesses:

Requires taking the lens cap off in order to browse pictures. Battery life is a joke without High MaH rechargeables.
