Review 2 of 9

Price Paid:  $149.00 from 149

Summary:

I''ve got the updated version of this camera (DSC-350F) which comes with a built in flash. It solves the problem of dark pictures indoor with bad lighting. I''ve been very pleased with it considering the price I paid. It''s great for family events and casual pictures that you would take with disposable cameras. The software that comse with it works flawlessly and even my non computer savvy wife was able to use it. Selecting the different modes on the camera does seem to get repetive after a short while and the webcam function is not the greatest out there but good enough if you''ve got nothing else!

Strengths:

-Great price -Clear pictures -Small design

Weaknesses:

-Mode selection can be tedious -Webcam function a little below par

Review 3 of 9

Summary:

I was a bit hesitant to buy a $100 digital camera, but surprisingly it came to be a good buy.

Outdoor shots come out very clear - not nearly as well as the Digital Mavica from Sony, but clear enough to read signs off of distant buildings and what have you. I took many shots of my girlfriend in the desert at multiple distances with a 1024x768 res. I could still make out details on her face.

Where the camera has downfalls with with it's indoor capabilities. The lack of a flash prevents decent indoor pictures. A dimly lit reception hall became a very blurry mass of tables and glasses. One is still able to make out what the items are, it's not very clear. The addition of a flash and an extra $30 to the cost would have been well worth it.

All in all, you get what you pay for. If you need high quality images, this isn't the camera for you - go Sony. If you are an amateur photographer wanting to take pictures for yourself or for friends or even for the family web page - this is the best camera to buy on a budget.
