If Fisher-Price made a camera, this would be it. It will take low quality pictures outdoors with the right lighting and a steady hand. Indoors, it is useless unless you get one that the flash works on, then it might be possible. It has a fixed focus, and will not focus at less than 3-4 feet. I recieved a second 640 as a free promotion for signing up for Earthlink, (that says a lot for thier wholesale value)and it was no better. Basicly, it is a cheap toy that will take some pictures if quality is not an issue. The Photo Easy software is actually quite good, I was impressed. These cameras can be bought on eBay for $30-40. You get what you pay for. Don''t expect much if you purchase one of these, or you may be dissappointed.

Summary:
This camera will take a picture, and the software does work to import the pictures to your computer. The photo quality is much like a cheap webcam that sits on top a computer. With enough light and a steady hand, it will take an acceptable picture. When I try to use the flash, the camera says the batteries are low, even with new batteries. I recieved a second Ixla 640 camera free as a promotion for signing up for Earthlink, so you can imagine the actual wholesale costs of these. You get what you pay for, these cameras have absolutely no features other than point and click, and hopefully everything is in focus and the lighting is right. It will not focus at all closer than 3-4 feet. You get what you pay for. These can be bought on eBay for around 30-40 bucks. Probably worth it if all you need is low quality pictures for email. Don''t expect much, though, or you will be dissapointed.
I have had a nice experience with my camera. Its not real noisy which allowed me to take baby pictures while my daughter was sleep. Its a nice size and easily transported. This camera is great for those who dont know much about photography but want to take nice pictures. It is able to be powered by either the usb cable or batteries. So you are able to use it as a web cam. I dont care for the fact that its hard on batteries, or that it doesn't have a zoom deature. However even with those small issues I still think its a great camera.

Summary:
This is my second cheap digital camera, and it's not bad. I guess one good thing about cheap digital cameras is that they don't have a lot of confusing options. This unit's very straightforward. You turn it on, choose a flash setting and shoot. The quality of images is about what you would expect from a 640x480 camera -- not great, but recognizable. If you want sharp images, and a macro mode for closeups, expect to pay more (I paid less than $50 at auction).
I did have significant trouble getting the software to recognize the camera with a USB connection. Finally I tracked down a patch on the IXLA site (www.ixla.com). Once I installed that, after reinstalling the delivered software, I was up and running.
All in all, a working camera for a rock bottom price.
Strengths:
Ease of use
Low price
Weaknesses:
Software to acquire photos to PC via USB did not work without first installing patch from the IXLA site.
