Price Paid:  $40.00 from on-line

Summary:

I used this camera for Ebay sales and it worked great. Then
12 shots being the limit. Now it is locked up even with new batteries.
Anyone who can tell me how to fix it?

Strengths:

The quality was very good.

Weaknesses:

It is now locked up. I hate to discard it and need a solution

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $40.00 from e-Bay

Summary:

This is an "off-brand" model I picked up on e-Bay for $40 bucks just for ducks. For an ultra-cheap .8 megapixel digicam, you can't go wrong - and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! This is a great little "second camera" to have lying around. It's fantastic for kids or for grandmom who might be leery of learning new technology. In fact, this is my son's favorite "toy" (warning - you may have hundereds of unflattering shots of you : ) When this came out in 2000 it compared favorably to the Kodak "Easy Share" model in terms of image quality but for a lot less money. With its high-quality Largan lens, the Largan EASY 800 offers true 1024x768 resolution at an extremely affordable price. This digital camera comes equipped with a high-density 800,000 pixel progressive Sony CCD. There are a lot of positives to this little camera, especially its images. If you see one for under $50 it's quite a nice little camera, a great entree into the digital world, and a nice little 2nd camera to have lying around.

Strengths:

Super Cheap... I paid $40 bucks new. Sharp Largan lens 1024x768 resolution - good enough for small prints and plenty (too much) for web photo-albums. High-density 800,000 pixel progressive Sony CCD. Built-in advanced IGBT flash with four modes of resolution, 24-bit true color images. Macro Mode for taking photos as close as 8 inches. Self-timer, red-eye reduction, and exposure adjustment capabilities. View photos via video connection cable on your TV. An overall outstanding value.

Weaknesses:

No LCD display Careful with drivers and software if you have Windows XP. Check Largan site for XP drivers. ->Warning<- This is a great value at $60 and under. If you spot one, pick it up. However, I've seen some retailers on-line charging the original $199 MSRP. DON'T BUY THIS AT THIS PRICE. This camera is a terrific value at around $50. $200? The retailer is ripping you off.
