Review 1 of 10

Price Paid:  $99.00 from Mustek mail order

Summary:

Oh my God! To think I went from a Nikon F601 to this! (Not for long)
6X4 prints are pretty grim.
There is a green colour cast most of the time. On a PC screen its not much better. Resolution is of course appauling being only VGA.
The flash stopped synchronising with the shutter.
Now in the bin where it belongs.

Review 2 of 10

Price Paid:  $258.00 from PLE Computers

Summary:

I've had this camera for a little over 3 years, and have used it almost constantly. Or did, until about a year or two ago when the quality became so bad, the camera was rendered unusable. I don't think it's even worth fixing since before that the quality wasn't that good anyway. Colours in beautiful sunsets did not show up properly (or at all), closeups were impossible, and on a bright day the sky always looked white and made the entire picture white and blurry. The camera is also supposed to work as a webcam, but doesn't. Also i must mention the purchase price mentioned above is in AU dollars.

Strengths:

The fact it can take short videos could be handy. Also the 10 second self-timer, thumbnail view, and the way the buttons are placed is good. It's also an attractive camera, like that matters.

Weaknesses:

The flash takes up enormous battery power, aswell as the fact it takes forever to charge up from when you turn the camera on. Also the extremely bad camera quality, and the fact the quality faded moreso over the years. I don't know if anybody else has had this problem though. I haven't heard about it anywhere. Also the delay between when you click the button and when the photo is taken is too long.

Similar Products Used:

Two different sony cameras, one which was $3000AU and VERY good, another which was cheap but lasted longer than 1 year, unlike the Mustek.

Customer Service:

When i first got the camera it was faulty, so i sent it back to the shop, then i got another faulty one, and sent it back to the shop, then my CompactFlash card was faulty... etc. However they always fixed it with no complaints, so i suppose i can't complain too much either.

Review 3 of 10

Price Paid:  $90.00 from Israel

Summary:

When I got it, it had blurry edges, so I had to open it and tweak the lens a little. Now it got great (for a VGA camera of course) pictures, altough I paid by increasing minimal distance to 1.5 m. Bateries hold for more than 100 shots

Strengths:

Cheap (cheapest with integrated display) , great pics (for a VGA), accepts memory extension, LONG bettry life

Weaknesses:

I had to open it and adjust the lens to get the great pictures. No posibility to force the flash to ON, just AUTO or OFF, which sometime it's anoying. Every control is done under changing menus, it's slow and tedious.

Similar Products Used:

Agfa e-smile. Horible pictures. Nothing to compare.

Customer Service:

Didn't need yet, hopefuly won't.

Review 5 of 10

Price Paid:  $90.00 from Computer Show

Summary:

I needed a point and shoot camera that would take good holiday snaps, etc., would be reliable, economical on batteries and easy to carry around. This is it.

Strengths:

Photo quality is good at the highest resolution. I''m not interested in printing my photos, only that they look good on the computer screen and these do. I like the fact that I can use the camera to review the pictures and decide which to keep. I''ve expanded the memory and can now take 60 or so high quality pictures at any one time. I also like the fact that the camera has a 2x digital zoom. I have yet to make use of its other features. The batteries last a long time. The USB download is fast. The camera''s functions are very intuitive.

Weaknesses:

The flash isn''t much help beyond about three feet. The cyberdisplay sometimes cannot pick up the detail I would like to see before taking a picture. This is especially the case when taking photos of faces.

Similar Products Used:

I''ve only had experience using relatively low end models of cameras

Customer Service:

This is really why I am writing this review. For some reason my camera stopped powering up. It was under warranty. I shipped it to Mustek (in the USA). In just over a week they sent me (in Canada) a n
