Strengths:    Relatively good pics, Ideal for beginners, A lot of settings for its prize, Cheap, Decent Macro-mode.

Weaknesses:    awkward position of the lens, fragile construction, no lens cap, LCD needs a lot of light, Need lots of light when making pics indoor, no zoom,

Bottom Line:
This camera is perfectly suitable for beginners who want to give digital photography a try. It has lots of settings. Despite some flaws, I enjoyed using this camera. The only reason I'm going to buy a new camera is the fact that I want to have more control.

Strengths:    battery
movie mode

Weaknesses:    see review above

Bottom Line:
I purchased the RDC6000 having been impressed with the overall package and price. I have since returned the camera to the shop. Several problems - occasionally upon playback of pictures the camera would state'unmatched file'. Secondly, on a recent visit to Mexico where I was 'snap happy' I took two smart media cards with me - both ended up with a card error when they were almost full. The camera had rendered the card unreadable by disk readers. Luckily I managed to (painstakingly)recover most of the data using a perl script. Thirdly, overall picture quality was bad - lighting was inconsistent and shutterspeed was v.v.v.slow - any movement at all in the subject woul produce a blurred image. Also, the time taken from turning the camera on to it initialising itself was very long. I have since swapped this camera for a canon A20 which I am over the moon with!

Strengths:    Price
Image quality
Battery life
Movie function
Choice of image resolutions
and sizes
manual settings
menu easy to navigate
good software bundle

Weaknesses:    No optical zoom
Only 8 meg smart media supplied

Bottom Line:
I have been very pleased with the results that I have received so far with this camera, as with any camera there are the booboos, mostly caused by camera shake and not using the correct settings for the prevailing conditions.
LCD: no worse than any digital in sunlight.
Battery life: I have found this lasts well.
Ease of use: yes you can just point and shoot but get better results by reading the menu first it has a lot of options for a budget price camera.
Value for money: good
I have never experienced the lock up problems

Strengths:    USB, and serial download is possible

Good battery life, almost 100 pictures on a single charge.

Weaknesses:    There are a large parallelx error for the viewfinder, which you have to use in dark condition, since the LCD is totally black in the dark.

The flash is weak.

The automatic white balance is not always working properly, but some of other digital cameras I tried showed the same problem.

2x or 3x times optical zoom will be nice.

Bottom Line:
It is a very good camera you get for 400$, and the image quality is almost equal to images captured by other much more expensive digital cameras. I have taken more than 1500 pictures in different condition, and I as I mentined, the image quality is much better than I expected.

Strengths:    Compact design, easy to use dials and buttons.

Weaknesses:    Picture quality. LCD problems. Lackluster image quality.
Delayed shooting speed.

Bottom Line:
I won the RDC 6000 around one year ago, and I have found it to be a dissapointing product overall.
Ease of use is there, a good camera for beginners, but the bad points far outweigh the good ones.
The LCD is extremely dark, making quick shots difficult, image quality is lackluster, and the speed at which the camera is able to take pictures is dreadful. The camera body feels cheap, all plastic rather than metal or composite material. My camera also has a problem with shutting itself off, or becomming 'frozen' while in use, these problems have frustrated me to no end. If you are in the market for a camera similar to this, consider Canon or other brand names before this model. A nice camera for free, but I would never pay the suggested retail price for it.
