Summary:

For snap shots it's fine -- blow up a picture though with say MGI Suite and you'll see all the lovely coloured bricks that make up the picture. The MGI Suite is very good and user friendly. Need to be careful with the flash as it IS very bright with close ups.

Strengths:

Great for close up and portrait work. Nice and small - fits in your pocket. Batteries hold charge well if you don't use the screen too much.

Weaknesses:

Crap battery cover - I've had it repaired once already and it wasn't brilliant when it came back from Sanyo. The little rubber port cover is very flimsy - I cover it with sticky tape at the same time that I stick the battery cover down !!!!

Similar Products Used:

Sanyo G300 - very similar camera - a bit heavier (4 batteries instaed of 2) and I think a better camera - mine had its' screen fail and I changed to the 250 under warrenty replacement.

Customer Service:

The battery cover was replaced and camera returned from Sanyo in 27 days. (see weaknesses)

Review 3 of 5

Summary:

A great deal if you can find it on sale, comes with everything you need to use it, I have friends who had to buy cases, overpriced memory, batteries, etc, and the "extras" cost more than the camera! A great "starter" camera, excellent for online use(Ebay). I would consider the VPC G350 If I had a few extra bucks (1024x768 resolution).

Strengths:

Bought one off the clearance bin at Sears, $168.99, in perfect shape, with all acessories. Uses Smatmedia which is cheaper than compact flash ($16.00 for 8 megs at buy.com, enough memory for 60+ 640x480 pics) Has a shutter-speed adjustment, came with extra batteries, charger, download cable, case. lightweight/small

Weaknesses:

Pics are brighter in the viewscreen than they are when downloaded, no tripod mount

Customer Service:

never tried it.

Review 4 of 5

Summary:

I bought this camera at Sears for $299. The camera takes very decent pics considering its not mega-pixel. I like it's small compact size. However I was very disappointed that there is no tripod mount and that the self-timer must be continuosly reset. I have found very little use for the sequential mode, movie mode and the audio mode. My next camera purchase will be a mega-pixel one without all the extra unecessary, storage consuming modes..

Strengths:

Compact size Sharp pictures 4 rechargeable batteries (only need 2 at a time)

Weaknesses:

No tripod mount. No AC adaptor. Over powering flash. Self timer has to be continuosly reset with each picture taken.

Review 5 of 5

Summary:

Bought this camera at Sears for $299.00. Takes very sharp pictures. Comes bundled with MGI PhotoSuite SE, 4 nimh batteries (camera uses only 2), battery charger & camera case.Camera can take up to 15 pictures sequentially, at 0.1 or 0.2 second intervals. It has a 10 second self-timer, a 2X digital zoom, and you can add 4 seconds of sound with each photo. You can also record 10 second video clips with this camera. I think that the Sanyo VPC-G250 gives you lots of bang for your buck. I've owned this camera for 3 months, and I'm very happy with it.

Strengths:

Small size, video clip capability.

Weaknesses:

None
