Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $278.00 from Wal * Mart

Summary:

This is a great camera. I have used the series of Mavica cameras for years at my schools. They are very good beginer camera. They have 4 picture effects, and the pictures look great. The E-Mail settng, makes the pictures smaller, and great to send to relatives & friends. After looking at Mavicas on E-bay, I got frustrated at spending 260.00 for a used mavica. So, i want to Wal * Mart, and i was going to spend whatever on it. I saw it for 278.46, and bought it right away. I am very happy

Strengths:

Greay camera.

Weaknesses:

Memory stick is an aweful envestment. JUST SAY NO!!!

Review 4 of 8

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Office Max

Summary:

Mav FD-7 VERY EASY FOR BEGINNER Read reviews Sat, and decided I definitely wanted floppy storage. Bought camera Sunday morning at OfficeMax for $300 + tax (included FREE $70 Starter Kit). Read Charging Manual and charged battery. Read small 40 page Instruction Book, inserted fully charged battery and took photos on floppy disk. Inserted disk in computer, viewed photos, rotated some, attached them to e-mails and then printed one. Everything was so easy and photos looked very good on computer screen and on 8X10 print. I'll never need to print big posters. I don't understand why I read so many complaints about quality, sharpness and detail. The photos look very good to me. I'm impressed with ease of use and sharpness of photos. Now I will try all the features.

Strengths:

Ease of use, floppy disk storage, features, macro, 10X telephoto zoom, exposure ocmpensaiton/bracketing, large 2.5" LCD, threaded for filters, teleconverters, 1/4000 sec speed, and long lasting InfoLithium battery (2-1/2 hours).

Weaknesses:

Large size, moderate weight, no viewfinder, no manual control, less than one pixel, 640X480 maximum resolution, only two file formats (jpeg & bmp), no red eye correction, no white balance, no stabilizing for 10X zoom, no spot metering and flash is too powerful.

Similar Products Used:

35 mm SLR

Customer Service:

At 10:30 AM, Sunday, store's employees were not yet at their peak performance.

Review 5 of 8

Price Paid:  $500.00 from Target-

Summary:

I love this camera. Its not as grainy as some people say, honest. I've used it for 4ftx4ft posters, newletters, cards, photos of Hawaii vacation--which shows that it isn't as grainy as some say. Granted, its not a 'mega-pixel" but its wonderful. I got it as a very beginner on the computer--which tells you how easy it is to use! I recommend it for everyone and many have gotten it due to my projects that they've seen me use it for! I got it as it came out and paid a much higher price and it was still worth every cent!

Strengths:

Can get many pictures on one disk and just pop that disk into the computer and you're ready to work with the photo. Nothing to download.

Weaknesses:

none
