Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $250.00 from e-bay

Summary:

Ilike the camera, but it is quirky when you use a MAC computer to download images. I cannot load the images via the tray and mini CD, I have to use the cable and go directly into the USB port on the side of my MAC. I have to use IPHOTO, no other software will work for me. I use OS-X and the IPHOTO is the latest version. I cannot chose the option of a seperate folder for e-mail size pics on the SONY. If I do, the camera will not upload images onto my MAC. The Sony tends to take COOLER pics than my Canon a70, the hues are cooler under exact lighting conditions. Other than those restrictions, it is a wonderful camera that can take and store many pics.

Strengths:

Battery pack, rechargeable MINI CDS store lots of images BIG LCD! easy to use 2.1 MP actually looks more like 3.2

Weaknesses:

Acts funny and limited on MACS

Similar Products Used:

Canon A70 Nikon coolpix

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Forget. Found it on

Summary:

Great camera. I wish it would start up quicker. I use Memorex 210MB CDRs instead of Mavica 156MB and the camera has no problem with them, except that it tells me it prefers the Mavica CDs every time I power up. The camera has great exposure settings, including three programmable, and takes MPEG movies in three qualities. I use the 1 min, 4fps setting. Sound is excellent. Image is good (though movies require more light). I wish I could upgrade the OS on this puppie to take time-lapse movies. I also wish I could upgrade the RAM past 5MB so it could take longer MPEG movies. Only had one problem with disc when I was writing a movie and my daughter bumped the camera. I had to restore the CD with ISObuster to retrieve images from thatday. Very sensitive write head.

Strengths:

Using 210MB discs: Can store 262 1024x768 images Can store 40 MPEG movies Excellent exposure control Extremely cheap storage ($1 a disc)

Weaknesses:

Slow start up. Slow writing. No upgrades.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $700.00 from best buy

Summary:

Awful. Keeps getting disc error. Cannot view pictures once I have taken them. I had the camera 4 months and finally called Best Buy and Sony. Best buy says 14 day warranty on cameras and sony says 90 day on this camera. Would not reccomend.

Weaknesses:

technology not advanced enough to write to cds yet.

Customer Service:

None.

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $470.00 from broadway video

Summary:

This has to be the best new gadget that I have ever bought. I just bought this camera and it is very easy to use. I dont have to worry about memory cards, or connecting to a computer. Just buy a cheap mini cd and you are in business. I was able to save over 120 pictures a disk, with the highest resolution and a small email file for each picture. The only complaint is the camera is a bit bulky but other than that i would recommend to anyone who wants an easy camera to work with.

Strengths:

easy use, cheap storage of pictures, sony is the only one to do this.

Weaknesses:

size

Customer Service:

none
