Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $141.00 from ubid

Summary:

purchased on ubid.com for $141.00 refurbished. I was worried about "refurbished" but found out that it can still be new if just returned to the store and resold, it must be termed refurbished. Very happy with it for the price.

Strengths:

Light weight, excellent pictures when used properly (lighting etc..) pretty easy to use, and at 3.2 Megapixels, you can't beat the price.

Weaknesses:

No external flash mount, macro setting hard to use without getting the slow aperture warning which causes image to blur.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Circuit City

Summary:

Got this camera in December 2002 and from day one it says the batteries are dead no matter how long I charge them for. I am using monster power cells and it also did the same thing with the supplied alkaline batteries. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Now Toshiba wants to give me a refurbished camera to replace this one. Thats not acceptible because I bought new and should have a new replacement. It also puts a red and green dot on the pictures.

Strengths:

Good quality when it does work

Weaknesses:

Says batteries are dead not matter how new or fully charged they are

Customer Service:

Toshiba customer service sucks. They want to replace something I paid 300 dollars for with a refurbished item that I could have gotten for 150-200.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Costco

Summary:

Just played with this camera for about 4 hrs. I just payed $300.00 at Costco. I have owned a Kodak DC215 for three years previous and needed a higher pixel camera. This seems to be a functional point and shoot camera for the casual user and has a manual mode and lens change options that allow semi-pro fun. It is not huge nor small. I have large hands and need a comera that gives my fingers some place to rest without being in the way of something. So far easy to pic up and start clicking.

Strengths:

Good picture quality, and 3 image quality settings. Easy to use in auto mode. Creativity can be used in manual mode and you can add filters and macro and telephoto lenses as options.

Weaknesses:

No automatic lens cover. 4 sec. warm up time. You can see the top of the lens through the view finder.
