Summary: I've attempted to use the Vivitar Vivicam for almost a year, and it's been a problematic camera. Vivitars customer service is absolutely hopeless, and that's if you can get a reply at all. The camera supposedly has a one year warranty, but that means nothing. The body has weak clips (it has since purchased, and has never been damaged or dropped) and opens sometimes - I mean the actual whole body of the camera opens. I finally reached the customer service supervisor, who decided to not to repair the camera because she "hasn't heard of that being a problem frequently repaired"(what?!). I should have returned the camera for it's plentiful other problems which they see thousands of, such as locking up. Strengths: Appered to have alot of features for the price. Not such a good deal when you can't even use the camera. Weaknesses: Problems with view, and alignment, constatnly locks up regardless of what mode it's in. Way too cheap body - comes apart, safety strap came out when cheezy plastic broke, and can't be put back. Body pops open, and isn't easy to coax back shut. Company doesn't stand behind product, even though there's supposedly a 1 year warranty. Similar Products Used: None Customer Service: The worst. Email only gets acknowlegment note back, but no customer service contacts you. Phone C.S. is just as pitiful - they closed their 800 number, so it's a VERY long wait on long distance, and then they tell you to call yet another long distance number.
