Summary:
Very good design in its small size and also realy good performance comparing to its price . it has the right instruments and controls .

Strengths:
Very high resolution and quality in pictures . good performance of L.C.D. very usefull controlls and accessories.

Weaknesses:
If the lens gets dirty it would be hard to clean it. Swallows up normal batteries . I have got 1900 mAh ( rechagable ) for it.

Summary:
Purchaced this camera as a point and shoot for family pics. I have always been a fan of canon products and have not been disapointed. Easy to use and excelent quality images. Excelent quality 5x7 prints.

Strengths:
Compact,easy to use,inexpensive. Love Canons Photo Stitch software - enables you to make huge Panoramas with multipe images and aligns them perfectly.

Weaknesses:
Huge drain on batteries (get a set of Nimh for this one)

Summary:
Incredible value.

Strengths:
Points and shoots, but has manual settings that no other camera at this price has. Canon does the best user interface... some others are unusable. Excellent screen, even though small. Lack of zoom creates a simple package.

Weaknesses:
Optics -- there is warping of the periphery of the image (expected at this price). Limited to 1sec exposure, although low light performance is good. Eats alkaline batteries for breakfast. No aperture priority.

Summary:
This camera represents incredible value! The image quality is superb and 2MP is plenty for 4x6 or 5x7 prints. Honestly, more megapixels will not yield a better image. You could even do an 8x10 with no cropping. For best results, use in manual mode. It's easy to learn. Indoors use tungsten or flourescent white balance, neutral photo effect and you probably won't need exposure compensation. Outdoors use the sunny or cloudy white balance and whatever photo effect you desire. Personally, I like the Vivid Colours effect. You will need to use exposure compensation - even on a cloudy day. One of the few (if not the only)entry level cameras with Auto Focus. Try to stay at ISO 100, as with most consumer digicams. Use a tripod indoors to avoid using flash. You must wait for Auto Focus confirmation before you fully depress the shutter. No zoom feature but at this price I would rather zoom with my feet and have the auto focus instead. Software included is very good. Must have NiMh rechargeables and at least a 64MB (good for 92 shots at 2MP setting) Compact Flash card. Will fit in a coat pocket or a big shirt pocket. Bigger than the S230 which is a plus for big hands. Should hold with two hands to avoid camera shake. A take anywhere camera or great as a backup for a more expensive system.

Strengths:
- Image quality - Auto focus - Photo Effect - White Balance

Weaknesses:
None. Not meant for fast action or continuous shooting. Great for everything else.

Summary:
A first class camera for this price. Maybe even the best after reading about all the reviews for comparable and even more expensive camera's Very handy and compact, but not too compact. It has a good grip. In auto position, it's a matter of point and shoot, real easily and you gotta be really shaky or something for not getting a satisfying result. When you're willing more creativity and put more effort in the result, you can be a lot of possibilities offert for that.

Strengths:
high quality pictures, east to use, great software, works well with windows and mac.

Weaknesses:
Had to buy rechargable (1600 mAh at least) battery's because the alkaline ones were gone after only taking the first pictures. Those are just not usable for a camera like this and Canon should point that out more clearly! In the end together with the other battery's, the gp powerbank, a bigger card than the delivered 8 mb etc. it's altogether just the same a pricy camera. But don't forget you gotta buy extra things for all camera's and except for the other battery's and the powerbank, you don't neccesarily have to buy them,
