$400.00 Summary: The camera produces nice quality digital pictures, especially given its portability. It could be somewhat more intuitive to use. Its main problem was the shutter/lens cap: its tiered design makes it easy to break or malfunction. Strengths: The product was relatively easy to use and produced nice photos. Its highly compact design makes it almost pocket-sized without sacrificing a lot in quality. Weaknesses: The durability of the automatic lens cap/shutter. It's spiralled and made of cheap plastic, so it can malfunction easily. Things can easily get caught in it, and the three different plastic pieces slide poorly over each other, sometimes getting stuck halfway. The downside is that while everything else in the camera might be fine, a half closed lens doesn't let you use all the nice features, rendering the camera useless. Customer Service: THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS A KAFKA-ESQUE NIGHTMARE. I mailed them my camera and for months wrangled with them to get it back or get a refund. Endless phone calls, emails, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend NEVER buying a Gateway product for this reason. There are better cameras that will not break, and when they do, will not involve a protracted struggle to have a working camera.
