Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $1200.00 from Hobart retailer

Summary:

My first digital camera, but I wanted good clarity and features eg. zoom, macro, remote. I also wanted it to be competitive for a few years.

Strengths:

x3 optical zoom; flexible range of features; close macro (1cm), remote control good for low light slow shutter shots; large storage (72mb); can take movies and or sound alone. Works well with my PC with a USB link

Weaknesses:

battery life could be a problem. Battery access door is delicate. Best to buy an AC power supply for downloading to PC. Scratchy sound replay on the camera but is OK once on the computer.

Price Paid:  $700.00 from Canary islands

Summary:

I bought this camera on a whim whilst on holiday for my wife,as she is a professional photographer and was considering going digital, hopefully to get her used to digital before spending a small fortune on on nikon D1X or something similar, only to find she prefers 35mm,anyhow i have been using it since day one and it it excellent, super crisp imagery, excellent zoomand a first rate macro facility that is second to none in this price bracket.my wife is still shooting 35mm!

Strengths:

Compact, large viewing screen, excellent quaility, range of excellent features and excellent value for money

Weaknesses:

the onle weakness i can find is the battery life, but if you don't shoot throught he screen and use the view finder they last a lot longer
