Price Paid:  $550.00 from a photoshop

Summary:
Im so sorry that i have to write an review again, but please folks im very very satiesfied with this black pearl which i have used intensively for PRO work for a local news paper in this summer,my editor(s)often ask what camera i use and they think its the normal L lens gear and High end Canon DSLRs as D1 or D10,BUT when i tell them its from this >old>box they dont believe me!.. . its so sharp and the colour balances is so well defined that we are all in chok! Of course its not designed for fast assignments BUT when i got time I Only use this!! You see, please note that The G2 has 64 reviews with a very high score on this site. And all others users they dont want to sell it ,when they are aware of the pics this G2 can make! I also read that some PJs from NEW YORK times use it!as well as other respected magazines and other PJs.. Hmm i tested them all the G1 G3 G5 G6 and the PRO 1,and i still think the G2 IS Far Better!! Holy moses ! its becoming a CULT object!? What have you done Canon! YOUR work is fantastic! make it again!! a very happy G 2 owner Love Chr

Strengths:
ALL (I scream it again= ALL!!!!!!!=)

Weaknesses:
THAT IT IS NOT MADE ANYMORE! I GOT 2 now! please Note that its very very seldom for sale USED!! ??!!! howcome??

Similar Products Used:
many many ..PRO 90 ,G1,G2,G3,G6 pro 1..NIKON and minolta..even the new SONY CARL ZEIS stuff...nope The G2 Rules..

Review 3 of 68

Price Paid:  $459.00 from BuyDig.com

Summary:
The G2 replaced my S30, and very capably too. The G2 started my current love affair with digital photography. The quality of photo produced by this camera is excellent. The lens is fairly fast and very sharp. The controls are laid out in a way that is easy to understand. The main functions have a button or a position on the control dial, and eliminate the need to always have to go through a menu. The body is well built and the twist/flip lcd protects the lcd while allowing easy access for veiwing and odd angles. Battery life is extremely good. I really enjoy this camera, I take it everywhere with me, and I am not afraid to snap pictures with the digital format. I really enjoy digital photography, and the quality of images from my G2 started that enjoyment.

Strengths:
Image quality, battery life, lens sharpness,twist/swivel lcd.

Weaknesses:
Size, it's a little big. A little noisy at high ISOs, but I expected that.

Similar Products Used:
Canon S30, Concorde Eye Q, Sony DSC-V1.

Review 4 of 68

Price Paid:  $550.00 from photoshop

Summary:
This Canon g2 is horrifying sharp. As a pro im very very demanding and believe me; this Canon G2 (the one example i got) is so sharp and has perfect balance between colour and contrast; im sometimes so surprised to get pics in this quality so i think its medium format! If it wasnt for the white balance which sometimes teaseme, and the lack of fastness i would take this unit G2 with me on assignment everyday!it also seems that this camera has a perfect balance of the ccd and the number of pixels inside in conjunction with a very good lens;the Canon folks hit it ! too bad they dont make anymore ,advise; get a used sample anyway. Its worth any penny

Strengths:
many many

Weaknesses:
see above

Review 5 of 68

Price Paid:  $550.00 from pricebascer

Summary:
I have searched the market long for a small pro rangefinder digital camera. The answer IS the fabolous Canon G2.! It seems it got all the features i needed compared to the others in this heat= The Canon G3 and G5.Simply because the G2 had a list of better performances which is all in all better than many other cams costing double up as well from other brands.Where else can you get a F2-2,5 lens through out 34 mm up to 100mm?? You can even make this a pointt and shoot camera because of the hyperfocus mode you can put on(a feature that is omitted in the G3 and G5)it simply means that the G2 focus from 50 cm and way out !so the question of slow AF focus becomes irrelevant;in most cases i got THE SHOT! and you know..i just put the G2 in the front of my eyes as normal, not needing the LCD screen to focus, which also comes as an extra beneficio as well.So compared to the other(G3 and G5) You cant see the Lens from the viewfinder!this is good too. Furthermore this G2 has been dropped and bbeen trowned around and it still works as new!its very strong as well. The size and design is perfect and i was so lucky i got it in black so the character of the design really comes through, i like the smooth lines and often people stops and ask me what camera i use;the simply like it very much. I could Go on with a detailed list of pure photographic joy from this instrument, but the fact is that it makes absolutely stunning results!!They come sharp detailed and with excellent contrast and resolution in either iso 5o and 100.I use it proffesionally very often with the Canon flash 420 ex and my clients is very happy with the results.Sometimes i think it beats the film results i get! im chokked.Digital gets better and better, theres still a way up to the best Slides and Black/white film to go:BUT its NOT evident and in many cases i feel the digital IS better!! GET THE G2 before the close the production :Its the best G model.

Strengths:
ALL; sharp sharp sharp lens f2 -2,5: good for low light(better than g3 and g5) cant see lens throuh the viewfinder you can make it as point and shoot digital cam;fast focus

Weaknesses:
None
